NEWTEXICAN SLAM CHALLENGE - team poetry slam

Saturday night, March 27, ABQSlams hosts a night of team poetry slam challenges.

We have a pair of slams that night -- The NewTexican Slam Challenge, a regional team poetry slam with Team ABQ going up against the teams from Silver City and Amarillo, Texas.

Also on Saturday we'll have the Team Slam Challenge, where we'll throw all the competing poets names in a hat as well as anyone else interested in competing, come up with four teams of unaffiliated poets who will them name their tems and compete against each other for a bevy of prizes provided by Warehouse 508 and Hastings Books & Music.

Lastly, we'll be having a short open-mic to start the evening.

The event starts at 8 pm at Chroma Art Center, 600 First St. NW (one block south of Lomas in the Roma Station building at the corner of Roma and First St.).

The event is free (tho we will be passing the hat to help our friends from Silver City & Amarillo earn gas to get home).
