Much of the work I do is produced within the Creative Commons license structure (http://www.creativecommons.org) and another community that is part of remix culture within the creative commons (http://ccmixter.org).
Are there any musicians here on The Root interested in collaborating on material? Enough to explore a project or two -- like maybe a remix challenge, podcast release, or internet radio broadcast (etc., you get the idea).
Basically, all it takes to participate is the ability to record and send/post mp3s or wav files of loops, snippets, phrases or acapellas, making note of the beats per minute (no loosey-goosey time in remix collaborations unless you're going beatless). This is a great way for singers and lead players to showcase and share.
Then there are the producers and remixers -- they have way with this music and the result is a surprising gestalt. Like musical fractals.
So. Is The Root ready for remix projects?
