My fans! I ask the question of the world, "Can music be a religion?" Probably not in the dogmatic definition of religion. Yet, religion as a word itself does not adhere to dogmatic regulation because all nations of this world have different religions. Hell, there are even different religions within Christianity. Protestant, Catholic, Russian and Greek Orthodox.. to name a few.
So the first definition of religion as defined by Dictionary.com is:

1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, esp. when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

There you have it! The universe is my giant guitar land and my purpose is to rock it with the creation of my superhuman devotion and ritual observances of my moral code: SEX - DRUGS - AND - ROCK AND ROLL!

2. a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects: the Christian religion; the Buddhist religion.

You: What religion are you, good sir?
Me: The ELECTRIC RELIGION!!!! (wailing guitar solo!)

3. the body of persons adhering to a particular set of beliefs and practices: a world council of religions.

The Punks, The Headbangers, The Thrashers, Metal Heads, Guitar GODS, Rockers, Jazz Masters... All with their own set of rules and beliefs.

6. Something one believes in and follows devotedly; a point or matter of ethics or conscience: to make a religion of fighting prejudice.

So go make your own religion! Mine is music because it is the gift that God has given me to help spread peace throughout the world.
