Volunteers needed for the Albuquerque Film Festival at 102 Gold SW, Albuquerque, NM

Whether you're part of the film community or just like watching movies we need your help. This is the inaugural year of the Albuquerque Film Festival and we want to make it the best one so far and to do that we need your help. We are looking for volunteers. Forgive me if this is the wrong forum to post, if I'm supposed to connect it somehow with my profile instead.I am officially under-employed. The job I have isn't paying me quite enough to make ends meet and I need to be saving up some more money over the next two months for a trip I'm taking to Europe in late May to June. Monies

Somebody smashed in my front windshield today. No reason, no other damage, no theft, just vandalism. Unless my insurance covers it (HA!!), the cost of repairs will be about a third of my net worth. Fun, eh?I was already feeling depressed last night about monetary things anyway. Go figure. But the thing about times like these, though, is that they provide lots of incentive to do creative things, reach out, and invest in oneself. My short bio
-I'm a student at UNM with one semester (actually only a couple of months left) before I graduate with a BA in Cinematic Arts.

-I've worked on many different movie sets doing many different jobs, from background to PA to grip. I'm trying to network right now, which is one reason I'm on this site, and also trying to get things together to work on some of my own projects.

-I've made a couple of short films on my own, one of which has shown at the New Mexico Filmmakers Showcase. The other film I shot down in White Sands was for a YouTube contest. I've also gotten permission from AGF to make a fan video of one of her songs, which was really cool.

-I'm quite familiar with Final Cut Pro and am a good text editor, too. You need me to look over anything and give some suggestions or recommendations, I don't charge anything and I'd love to help out. I really do like seeing what people are doing and definitely like getting involved where I can.

-One of the things really interesting about where Albuquerque is now in terms of its film community is that many sub-communities have developed but few have synthesized. I'd like to see more communication between these groups with all of their varied creative responses and ideas to this new artistic resource that's developed in our home state, and hope that this site will be a good starting place. I have not as yet really become an integral part of any one community, but I definitely have an idea of what is possible with the amount of excitement that's brewing.
