STAGEHAND:
My most exciting IATSE gig was driving 500 miles to be a stringer for the RollingStones in Nashville. (Sheryl Crow opened)...that was a mess of years ago...but I got the gig because I had worked in the early 90's for the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee. I started as a loader, always got the call for stage tech assist, and runner.
One of the coolest moments during that phase of my career in a black Tshirt was being allowed to play Bob Dylan's '65 J150. (mine was a '64). Artists I loaded & unloaded are too many to mention, personal highlights were George Clinton, Ani DiFranco, Lenny Kravitz & the Reverend Horton Heat. Korn was the biggest pain...one truck dedicated solely to stage shwag & blow-up dolls in various states of dress & distress. Let's just say I moved alot of gear, and prefer working around tech.

FILM:
My first "career" job EVER was for an ADDY winning agency in Washington, DC. I started as a receptionist, handled the chaos of three uber creative principals, copywriters, art department, media buyers, sales reps...the whole drill. Within 2 years I had made it to production assistant, copywriter, on-air & on-camera talent.
On camera work besides regional & national commercial spots for SUBWAY include a pilot for syndication, NEIGHBORHOOD MONSTER THEATER, which included current FOX commentator Bill McCuddy, a walk-on & multi media voice over in the cult classic "SPACEMAN."

DESIGN:
I love my MAC. self-teaching all programs. photoshop. all manner of graphic design, Tshirts, flyers. you name it. My "BrainBombs" have been quoted by syndicated columnist & author, Rob Breszny. http://www.freewillastrology.com/ (archive:June9'05 Sagittarius)
Most videos on profile are me playing with media programs. Would love to continue education formally.

I have been a visual artist/muralist since age 11, when I blew mom's chances of getting our rental deposit returned. On profile are examples of painting, including a local mural restoration after gang tag, and most recently TAOS'COOL BUS. I specialize in faux finishes and set painting as well. Trained for 3 years in Milwaukee, WI with designer Gary Wolfe of Oh!Monah Design. http://www.ohmonah.com/
I also enjoy learning while I build props.

CREW ATTITUDE:
I have traveled the country & sometimes the world extensively, and have never found the feeling of home more sustainable than on a crew accomplishing the extraordinary. It's a huge nomadic family. A great crew works for a primary goal, with so many tasks...it's like one living organism... is that too "cosmic?" I love to learn. The current schedule includes return to BRISTOL RENAISSANCE FAIRE this summer, for set/deco site crew & performance as TrollGirl for the season. (June-Sept.'10 )http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KViw2ouDfMs

IN THE MEAN TIME:
I reside in Taos, NM, continue writing & recording songs on my computer & various lo-fi gear.
All songs on my Root66 profile are original. I've been up in this gorgeous town for 8 years now, and the nomadic family's calling again. After BRISTOL and a brief visit during that time to SBSF (Steel Bridge Songwriters' Festival in Door Co, WI), I'm setting my sights on returning to my home state and heading for Austin.

If you or anyone you know is currently in need (or will be in the next few months) of any of my types of skills, the work would SO be appreciated...carry camera bags? fetch StarBucks >eesh<
...I'll do it with a smile!

“Da Vinci Code” Old News/ letter to the editor/published in TAOS' Horsefly

“Da Vinci Code” Old News

Dear Editor:
I finally read Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code”—oooooh!

The sacred feminine subjugated, demonized, and dismissed in the name of greed, fear, and power-hungry politicians ... what a REVOLUTIONARY SECRET!

And She only speaks to us through the mysteries of symbolism, intricacies of nature, and intimate connection with what Jung refers to as our “shadow self.” OOOH!

I’m so glad a MAN wrote about it as FICTION so everybody could take it “seriously”....

“Zeitgeist, U.S.A.” Erupts - Now Can We Come Together?/play review by LS Lokey

“Zeitgeist, U.S.A.” Erupts - Now Can We Come Together?

Last week I walked into a local culture corner for some coffee and smack into a furious eddy of conversation. The topic? John Biscello’s most recent literary-cum-dramatic ejaculation, “Zeitgeist, U.S.A.” Not since “The Vagina Monologues” – which I also enjoyed multiple times – have I seen a gender’s voice so effectively exposed. I’ve been wondering when the voice of Manthing would cry out from the psychosexual wilderness.

I’d say the veil… Continue

AMERICANS, not who we used to be / editorial by LS Lokey/published Taos'News

"The claims of these organizers of humanity raise another question which I have often asked them and which, so far as I know, they have never answered: If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind? The organize… Continue

Just starting beta testing on a creativity workshop online.
Hoping this will break through my longterm block on artwork & songwriting. My artwork has gone into hibernation since moving to
NM 10 years ago, except for stonecraft. Will post some of that...
