Grew up in the photography business, starting at age 6, as a darkroom tech, and photographyphile with my Kodak Brownie (still works). Owned a studio for ten years, bringing it with me to California from Illinois when my brain thawed out enough to realize I hated the Midwest and its inhospitable winters. Always wanted to live by the ocean... now I do!
I teach Marketing and Economics at Brooks Institute, and at ITT I teach Project Management, Economics, and Group Dynamics. I love teaching as much as I love Photography and am able to enjoy both passions in my life.
In 2007 I decided I'd been away from photography long enough and put SunRidge Photo into operation. In 2008 I completed one commissioned assignment for a book and am now working on the second book. Zin City, written by my friend, Debra Ristau, is going to be a fantastically fun project... and rewarding.
In addition to photography and teaching, I also coach business clients to higher levels of success. Today, I'm specializing in helping photographers gain market share and improve their communication efforts, as well as helping corporate clients such as Baxter Labs with team building and leadership.
SOUNDS GREAT--ROUTE 66 IN NM IS INTERESTING, AS IT GOES ALL OVER THE PLACE--ROUTE WAS CHANGED IN THE '30'S, BUT THE OLD ONE IS STILL RECOGNIZED & HAS A LOT OF WONDERFUL PLACES TO PHOTOGRAPH ALONG THE WAY. IF YOU'RE IN THE AREA, LET ME KNOW & I'LL GIVE YOU THE 25CENT TOUR. G.
Hey. Glad to hear you are living your dream by the ocean. I lived on a ranch in SMM for a long time. The best thing about Santa Monica Mnts. is the ocean and the desert meet each other . . . there is nothing like desert and ocean in the same place!

Thank you for the nice things you said about my work. I truly appreciate it.
Regarding the painting look: It's called the Orton Technique and is a simple Photoshop process. It is available as an action as well from Adobe.
