If more of this country were engaged in creativity, we might not have the unemployment problems we have now. At some point we stopped 'creating' new things. We replaced that with the 'replication' of cheap things - and we guaranteed our current lot.The reason most people hate their jobs is that are never given real challenges. If all you need to do to make your paycheck is read-repeat-read-repeat....it's hard to find satisfaction. But - we have been well trained by the modern school system to do just that kind of work, so we have that going for us.

From Seth Godin's blog: "One way to approach your work: "I come in on time, even a little early. I do what the boss asks, a bit faster than she expects. I stay on time and on budget, and I'm hardworking and loyal."

The other way: "What aren't they asking me to do that I can do, learn from, make an impact, and possibly fail (yet survive)? What's not on my agenda that I can fight to put there? Who can I frighten, what can I learn, how can I go faster, what sort of legacy am I creating?"

Where are the companies that want this second kind of person??

Who here is satisfied with just 'getting by'??

Now get to work changing the world. Nobody else is gonna do it.
