The State of the LA Musician

SOS! Mayday Mayday!!! We're crashing. That's pretty much it! Right there in a nutshell. I can only describe the state of the LA musician as being like a plane crash... Only there's no pilot flying the plane on it's way down.. That guy abandoned the plane once it started sputtering and went, "To hell with all of those loser, fags!" Who could blame him?
One would think to one's self? There are tons of musicians out in LA! Yeah, exactly! There are so many musicians but so few professional ones. The ones who at least have talent want to get paid for all of their time including practices (and probably to wipe their pretty little bottoms cuz they're soo good). Even then it's still hard to get in touch with them. Then there's all the other losers out there who wanna finagle their way into the recording studio to make some cash and then not have any commitment to learning the songs.
I'm sorry to say that musicianship in LA has come to a low. There are poor, starving musicians that are willing to do anything for money but nothing without money. I'm asking the government to give LA musicians some of that fat bailout money. But instead of just sending them the check, they should give it to government appointed managers who'll then hand it out to band members who show up to practice! That should weed out all the noncommittal weasels who own a bass and think they're a bass player.
These people just don't want to adjust to the idea of a recession. This is when everyone should start laying down solid foundations in their musical careers. This is when doing the "just to get by" thing doesn't cut it.
So I'm speaking for all musicians of LA tonight... With a simple sign that says, "Will play for food!"
